Itinerary

Trip length: 42 days in the EU (using all bar 2 of our allowable 90 days since February)

We're not joining any other adventurers on this (hopefully straightforward) trip - just meeting up with our daughter, partner and dog in Lisbon so the itinerary may well be a little variable as we travel.

Anyway, here's the plan on the way down to Portugal in May:

Following the route in blue below, we'll stay over in Folkstone so we can take an early train on Le Shuttle on the 19th and probably stop around Le Mans. We'll then head for Bordeaux for an overnight before an overnight at Burgos, finally spending our first night in Portugal at Guarda. Well, that's the plan.

From Burgos things get a little more fluid. Like most caravanners, we'll be basing ourselves at a campsite and exploring the surrounding area - the Michelin Green Guide helping on this trip; we'll be staying 2 - 3 nights in most places apart from Lisbon where things slow down a little. We're leaving Porto and the north to a later visit that will incorporate Northern Spain as, of course, we're time limited.

Anyway, so far it looks like this as far as Visits:

Burgos > Viseu > Aveiro > Coimbra > Tomar > Alcobaça > Batalha > Nazaré  > Obidos > Ex. Peniche > Sintra >Mafra > Cascais > Estoril > Setúbal > Lisbon

(not necessarily in this order or, indeed, at all)

Campsites to follow with details in the blog diary.

After family time, we head down to the Algarve.....
