We're planning the route with a range of targeted campsites through France, Spain and, of course, in Portugal. We're meeting up with our daughter and partner in Lisbon so that goes into the plan, too.
In the meantime we'll be sorting the outfit as this is the first trip with the new Volvo XC60 6T Recharge - which means a new rear view digital camera system for the caravan and various other equipment changes including new 'van tyres and a new lightweight Isabella sun canopy. Oh, and obscenely large UK stickers (required in España) for the car and 'van although I might try a smaller version on the car and cross my fingers.
We're using the Portuguese Via Verde motorway electronic tag system as this seems to be the one that works throughout the range of autoestradas. The XC60 falls into Class 1 (just) which depends on the height of the car above the first wheel. This means the caravan is 'free'. Another 1cm would make a massive difference to how the system charges us so let's hope it all hangs together.
